Good Riddance 2011
Hello 2012...

Well let's just say 2011 did not get better after my last post... just so I can get it out we had a few passings in my family - my Mom passed away on May 21, my beautiful 19 year old Maine Coon Emmett in mid June, My Great Uncle Bert in July, my Sister's pup Cera in November, my Great Aunt Kate in late November and my precious little black rescue kitty Mikito (Titi) in early December. It was the hardest year I've ever had to live thru and I so hope that I never have to experience all that pain again.

That being said three things kept me partially sane... my beautiful twin 4 1/2 year old kits and creating. In the midst of all the craziness I created some beautiful pieces for friends and family and more Color Combo Challenge pieces. I've put
some of the Color Combo Challenge pieces in my etsy shop but will show you some of the highlights here.

May 2011 -
Mother & Daughter Hearts...
created from Fine Silver for a friend and
her daughter. The mom's heart has here daughter's birthstone and the daughter's has the Japanese symbol for "bond" on the back. They fit perfectly together as the daughter is her mother's heart.

Daffodil Daze...
A good friend saw my "Statement Ring" and said she had to have one... so I asked her favorite color and favorite flower and POOF came up with Daffodil Daze - a VERY LARGE ring making quite the statement. The cool thing is
- it's a size 4 1/2 - TINY yet sooo large on top!! Created from Fine Silver each petal was hand shaped and the "cup" was hand formed around the stone. The band has the owners initial crafted onto it.

Rosary for Mom...
Created this Mother of Pearl Rosary for my Mom. She passed away earlier today after a brief illness. In a need to put my mind on something else while we struggled to wait and see if she would recover I started creating this Rosary for her. I don't remember her having one and thought maybe she'd like a personalized one.

This one is created from Mother of Pearl (Pearl's biblical meaning is "God's Wisdom") beads, vintage bronze wire all hand wired, and
the cross and center piece were molded from an old rosary which had belonged to her mom and then created using bronze clay.

I then combined the Mother of Pearl Decades with Swarovski Crystals in the birthstone colors of all the kids and grand kids. The little fired-in-place Peridot CZ represents her one great-grand child. She loved her kids and grand/great grand kids and I think she would be very proud of this piece.

Will miss you Mom - we all will.

Until next time... I leave you with this thought - take care of those you love - both 2 legged and 4 legged ... there is nothing like the love you have your family, friends and your pets. Special love to my two lost boys.. Emmett and Titi... love you.

Please take time to visit my friends using the links posted above. These gals make all their product by hand - in their work shops, rooms, studios. They are true artisans and I am so proud to present their work in my pieces.
